Sagarika Deb enthralls audiences at 'Shakseeyat Awards' 2015

On the Occasion of International women's day Shakseeyat Magazine organised an event for the women achievers who have done a tremendous work in their profession & are great inspiration for the society.

This year's award ceremony was focused on the cause of "Saving the girl child and abolishing female foeticide". Singer Sagarika Deb graced the occasion with her mesmerizing performance at the starting and ending of the award show. Sagarika's rendition of the song 'O Ri Chiraiya' based on saving a girl child was highly appreciated by everyone.

This year  "14 Diamonds" of our country from different fields of work were selected to be honoured for their hard work & achievements.








The awardees were honored by Renowned Film & TV Actor, Anupam Shyam Ojha, Sant Kumar Chaudhary (Chairman, Shankara Group of Institution), Arpita Bansal (Founder & President KK Memorial Trust), Mr. Tushar Kumar (Chairman & Managing Director GTM Group), Diptie & Piyush Sharma (Founder Shakseeyat Magazine & Awards).

The prominent awardees of this year are Singer Sagarika Deb,  Film and TV Actress Surekha Sikri, Actress Chitrashi Rawat, Shagufta Yasmine (TV Journalist & Writer), Dr.Seema Midha (Tarot Reader), Rt.Lt.Colonel Rita Gangwani (Personality Development Coach), Rashi Aanand (Journalist), Kinjal Singh (IAS Officer), Paramjeet Chaddha (Tarot Reader & Healer) and many more.

Sagarika Deb received the 'Shakseeyat Award' in the field of Music by Shovna Narayan ji (Padmashree Awardee for Kathak), Anupam Shyam ji (Film and TV Actor) and Mr. Tushar Kumar (Chairman & Managing Director GTM Group).

The latest edition of the 'Shakseeyat Magazine' was also launched by all the awardees during the event. The award ceremony was ended with a Bollywood performance by Sagarika which saw everyone dancing to the tune of her music.

Sagarika says, "Events on saving a girl child and abolishing female foeticide should be encouraged throughout the world, specially in the developing countries like India. This event by Shakseeyat Magazine was even more special since it was not just an award show, it also brought the disclosure of the opening of an 'ashram' by the founders of the magazine Diptie & Piyush Sharma. I am so happy to know many of the abandoned girl childs will get a safe home and will receive the love and care that they deserve. I was specially asked by Diptie to perform the song 'O Ri Chiraiya' for the occasion. I am so glad I was able to do my small part in such an event and arouse the emotions of the people through my voice. Also I am honored to be considered as one of the Diamonds of the society and feel privileged to be receiving such an award. Lets hope the situation of the girl child in our country will be improved by such initiatives".

The award ceremony took place in Delhi's The Park Hotel on the eve of International Women's Day.
